Re: roadless victory
Thu, November 20, 2003 - 10:16 PMIt reminds me of a weird game I played. Six friends had an expansion Settlers game going, and I showed up about halfway through. One of the players had to depart, so I took her place. She had few places to expand, with wheat-heavy resources and the wheat port. Her (now my) hexes had great rolls, though. I thought I had no chance of winning, but lo and behold, through saavy trading, building on the coasts, and developing a huge army, I came from behind to win. Weird how it works sometimes...

Re: roadless victory
Mon, December 20, 2004 - 12:07 PMThis is particularly easy once you start using Cities and Knights. You simply build your developments until you get metropolises for their points, though you do have to do some road building to support your knights. I won a six player game that way once... four cities, two with metropolises, and developments.
