Names for the robber?

My friends tend to call the robber Fritz. They call being robbed, "being Fritzed."

Anyone else have any pet names for the unwashed scum who steals our resources?

when teaching the game to a newbie, I have a bad habbit of calling the robber either "the dude" or "the baron." Don't really know why.

Some friends of mine got creative and painted their robber piece to look something like an easter egg. Naming him a real name is a good idea though.

Ha ha... we could call it the US troops. <sorry... I support our troops... really!>

We've always called him the pirate. Can't say as I know why, the folks who taught me called him that.

Actually, the pirate is a different piece. In seafarers, there's a pirate and a robber. The pirate blocks ports and the robber blocks landy bits.

I think my brother's Catan group calls the pirate the Pirates of Ipanema, which they sing, every time the pirate moves. apparently came out of (initially)
saying "pirates! du du dunnn!", when it was rolled, drinking a lot, girl from ipanem inspiration... etc.
and now they sing the girl from ipanema like pirates and do a little dance.
I have yet to see this myself.

I've never played seafarers... so I was unaware of the true pirate! However, the folks who taught me do play seafarers... so I have to wonder, are they just trying to keep me confused and ensure future victories?!?

The group I used to play with called the robber Gee Bee Jay, for "George Bush Jr." since we're all democrats and we hate him.

The seafarers raider was christened the "Butt Pirate" because we figure that whan you land him on something you're getting f'd up the ass...

    The Indigenous people.

Truly aren't the unwashed scum stealing all the resources the settlers? Thus, the robber is merely the displaced people of Catan rightfully claiming their resources. Admittedly, the name came about in a late night, somewhat drunken stupor during a four hour game, but it just stuck. It is a bit Berkeley-ish...

Because of the black and the whole "rawr I steal j00" attitude, the first group I played with tended to call him the "ninja" and would cry out "YOU GOT NINJA'D!" when rolling a seven.

Sometimes we'll call him "El Bandito" but generally just "the bandit".
Although, we've begun a silly habit of saying, "MOVE - THAT- BANDIIIIIT!!!" in a cheezy game-show host voice whenever someone rolls a 7. ;)
